There are a few, very small, very flexable radios that are capable or transmitting on public safety and business band frequencies. These radios are fairly cheap between $100.00 to $200.00. Here is a list of some radios that I have owned that are proven performers.

Yaesu VX-5

This radio is a Tri Band radio that transmits in the VHF and UHF ranges.
The radio will transmit on VHF from 138 to 170 Mhz and in UHF from 420 to 470 Mhz. It also transmits on low band VHF (45 to 54 Mhz) but most modern services are no longer on low band

Yaesu VX-6

This is a slightly newer version of the VX-5 with basically the same features except it does not have low band but can be modified to do so.

Yaesu VX-7

This units menu and buttons are different from the VX-5 and VX-6. Some of the features that were easily accessable on the front panel are now in the menu. Same basic features and bands but when modified gives you the 1.25 M amateur band.

There are other radios but these are the easiest to use, modify, to find and some of the smallest. One website that has excellent in finding public safety frequencies is www.Radioreference.com  This breaks down the database info by state, county and township. It also provides info on businesses with radios in the area including amusement parks, fast food etc. There are many other things that can be done with these radios. if you want some more info, contact Mr. Bethlehem on the voice bridge on most nights.
Have fun kiddies!!!

Preferably for the AM window.  Would like to find 3870, 3880, 3885, 7290 etc..  Would also like other frequencies in the 80, 40, 20, 10 meter bands as well.

Thanks again,
Chris
